Day 29 (25th August 2013) of my Budget Restoration of my Series 2 Land Rover

Day 29

The weather only brightened up in the late afternoon, so that has eaten into the time we have for the work that needs to be done.

We have been busy getting all the parts that we need off the tub and the windscreen is now off and ready for painting. We have taken the tailgate off the old tub and it is also ready for painting.

The tailgate needs to have a rub down first, but not much else needs to be done to it other than painting. It was not that easy to get it off and it had been painted that many time, the spanners would not go over the nuts. Then because the paint was so thick, we had trouble getting the fixings off too. Why do people paint over stuff so many times when it would be better to clean them up and do it.

Well, it is all ready for the paint now. So all the painting on the body work is nearly completed.

Hopefully the paint will go on tomorrow.
