July 25th 2013 Series 2 Land Rover Budget Restoration

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying the hot weather that we are having. I know I hate it. Don't do well in this heat at all.

Well, we have started work on restoring the Series 2. I has been hard work, but she is going to look so cool when finished.

We had a bit of a problem with the door hinges, but thanks to Avril from the Series 2 Owners Club, we have the part of the hinge coming soon.

Here are some photos that I have been taking. I am keeping a photo diary of the work and will be putting it in a folder for when we go to shows and stuff with the Series 2.

So here we go.

We couldn't find every panel that we needed, so we had to make them.

Well this is it so far. the weather has been so hot the last couple of days, it has been too hot to work. So we had a couple of days off. Then we had some much needed rain. Oh, that was lovely, just a pity it didn't cool down any.

Work will start again tomorrow and the nearside footwell and pillar have been taken off and hubby is ready for the new ones to go in. A little bit of work to do to make them fit (as usual with a Land Rover), but it is looking really good.

I am looking forward to meeting Avril and her hubby when they come with the door hinge that they have for us. So keep watching this space and see how are Series 2 is coming along.
